Account and subscription.

Yes.

You can make changes to payment methods or billing information directly in the Paddle customer area.

No.

Direct self-deletion of the account is currently not possible.

Since UpSynth user accounts are created automatically upon login, logging in again after deletion would create a new, empty account.

If you want a complete deletion, please write to: support@upsynth.ai

Yes, anytime.

If you have cancelled your subscription, you can still log in and, if needed, take out a new subscription at any time. After subscribing, you can immediately continue working with new upscales and projects.

No.

Cancellation affects billing only and active usage quotas, not your account itself. Your data remains accessible to you as long as you do not actively have your account deleted.

Subscriptions, payments, and invoices are managed entirely via our payment provider Paddle.

Paddle provides you with a dedicated customer area where you can manage your subscription independently.

There you can, among other things:

  • cancel or change your subscription
  • update payment methods
  • download invoices
  • view billing details

You get access to this area directly via the emails sent by Paddle.

Cancellation is done directly via Paddle, not via UpSynth itself.
Make sure you cancel your subscription in the Paddle customer area. Your access remains active until the end of the already paid billing period.

If your account has been deleted and you log in again later, a new, empty account will be created automatically. You can then use UpSynth normally again and, if needed, take out a new subscription.

Your UpSynth account remains fully intact, even after you cancel your subscription.

You can still:

  • log in at any time
  • view your existing images
  • view projects

There is no automatic account or data loss due to cancellation.

You have two options:

  1. Delete all images yourself and simply stop logging in
  2. Contact us at support@upsynth.ai and request complete data deletion

Both options are GDPR-compliant.

All invoices are created by Paddle and can be downloaded in the Paddle customer area. In addition, you receive invoices by email after each billing.

No.

Cancelling a subscription does not result in deletion of your account or your data. Your content remains available and accessible to you until you delete it yourself or request complete deletion via support.

General

No.

Image processing is automated. UpSynth does not manually access your images.

Yes.

Even after cancellation, you retain access to your existing images and can log in again at any time or take out a new subscription.

No.

You can try UpSynth without a subscription first.
The first Upscale, Restore, or Modify operation is free, but the result will include a watermark.

For regular use, there are three paid subscriptions with different performance tiers available.

Alternatively, you can use a one-time paid trial, which is not a subscription.

A subscription is only required if you want to use UpSynth on an ongoing basis.

UpSynth places particular emphasis on:

  • controlled upscale settings instead of one-click automation
  • multiple result variants to choose from
  • EU hosting and GDPR compliance
  • no use of user images for AI training

UpSynth is suitable, among other things, for:

  • upscaling small or heavily compressed images
  • restoring details and faces
  • enhancing old photos, scans, or screenshots
  • optimizing images for web, print, or archiving

UpSynth is an AI-powered image service for enhancing, restoring, and upscaling images. The focus is on natural results, controllable settings, and a professional workflow – without black-box automation.

UpSynth is aimed at:

  • creatives, designers, and photographers
  • developers and studios
  • companies and agencies
  • anyone who wants to improve image quality in a targeted way

UpSynth is especially suitable for users who want to retain control over the result.

Pricing and payment.

Generally not. AI-based image processing incurs immediate GPU costs for us with every use.
Since these costs are not refunded by our infrastructure partners, we unfortunately cannot offer refunds.

By purchasing a subscription, you expressly agree that we begin providing the service immediately – which may limit the statutory right of withdrawal (see right of withdrawal in the terms of use).

No.

There are no hidden costs.
The amount shown to you during checkout is the final price – including all taxes and processing fees.

Yes.

During payment, you can provide a VAT ID / VAT number and receive a company-compliant invoice. This feature is provided automatically via paddle.com.

Yes.

You can switch from a monthly to an annual subscription at any time. The change takes effect at the end of the current term. Please note that amounts already paid are not refunded pro rata.

In your user account, you will find the menu item “Billing History”.

There you will be forwarded directly to the paddle.com customer portal. There you can:

  • change your billing address
  • update your payment method
  • view previous payments and invoices

No separate login is required – access is automatic.

You can always find the current prices on your subscription page after you log in. Prices are displayed in USD or EUR depending on language and region. With the annual subscription, you get two months free compared to monthly billing.

In this case, please contact the support team of paddle.com directly, our payment service provider.
We ourselves do not have access to your payment data or invoices and cannot make any changes.

Yes.

Payment processing is handled via our certified partner paddle.com, which acts as the so-called Merchant of Record. The technical processing is carried out by Stripe – one of the world’s most secure payment providers. UpSynth does not store any payment data itself.

If a payment fails (e.g., due to an expired card), our payment provider will notify you by email. You can then update your payment method in the customer portal. If the amount is not paid within a few days, your subscription will be automatically paused.

Billing is monthly or yearly, depending on the plan you selected. The first payment is due immediately upon purchase. Your subscription starts right away and renews automatically unless it is cancelled.

We accept many common payment methods, including:

  • Credit and debit cards (VISA, MasterCard, American Express)
  • SEPA direct debit
  • iDEAL, SOFORT, Giropay, Bancontact, EPS
  • Przelewy24, GrabPay, AliPay
  • PayPal

(Available options may vary by country.)

Cryptocurrencies are currently not supported.

Value-added tax (VAT) is automatically calculated by paddle.com based on your country and remitted correctly.
You will see the tax item transparently on your invoice. This makes administration simpler and legally secure for you and for us.

Yes.

paddle.com automatically generates a tax-compliant invoice for each payment. You receive it directly via email or can download it anytime in the customer portal under “Billing History” in your UpSynth account.

All images and data are processed and stored exclusively on servers within the EU.
UpSynth ensures that no data transfer to third countries takes place during processing.

For the technical provisioning of certain infrastructure components, we work with providers such as RunPod, but use exclusively European data center locations.

You can exercise your rights under the GDPR – e.g., access to stored data, correction, deletion, or objection – at any time by sending us an email to support@upsynth.ai. We process all requests promptly and within the statutory deadlines. You can also find more information in our privacy policy.

All data transfers are carried out over encrypted connections (TLS 1.2 or higher). Our servers are protected by firewalls, access policies, and regular security updates.

Projects and edited images are retained by default until you delete them.

UpSynth uses exclusively secure third-party login methods, including Google, Apple ID, and Facebook. These providers already offer a high level of security during login – including two-factor authentication if it is enabled for the respective service.

In addition, we offer an optional login link via email that creates a time-limited one-time login. We do not offer classic password entry or manual 2FA via SMS or apps, as we do not store our own passwords.

Yes.

As a provider based in the EU, UpSynth is fully subject to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

UpSynth stores only the minimum necessary personal data: first name, last name, and email address. We do not store passwords, credit card data, or sensitive profile data.

If a data breach nevertheless occurs, we will promptly assess the risk potential and, if necessary, report the incident to the competent data protection supervisory authority within 72 hours in accordance with Art. 33 GDPR.

If there is a high risk to the affected individuals, we will also notify you directly, as required by Art. 34 GDPR.

All data is processed and stored exclusively on servers within the European Union.

We use exclusively GDPR-compliant service providers with servers in the EU. We provide a list upon request or in our privacy policy.

Only you. Neither other users nor UpSynth employees can view your images without your consent.

Support

Currently, the focus is on making usage as intuitive as possible. More advanced guides and help are planned.

No.

Support has no access to your images unless you explicitly provide them (e.g., for troubleshooting).

You can reach UpSynth support by email at: support@upsynth.ai or via Discord.

We usually respond within 24–48 hours on business days. More complex requests may take a bit longer in individual cases.

We currently do not offer live chat or phone support. All requests are handled via email or Discord.

Support can help, among other things, with:

  • questions about subscriptions, invoices, and Paddle
  • account deletion and data requests
  • technical problems
  • unclear results or errors
  • legal or data protection-related questions
